Ichthyol ointment is a traditional topical medicine with astringent and antibacterial properties prepared in accordance with the Polish Pharmacopoeia. Ichthyol is a product of dry distillation of oil shale with a characteristic smell and dark red colour. Ichthyol ointment is recommended for use in the treatment of skin eczema, furunculosis and acne. In addition, ichthyol has an anti-swelling and locally warming effect.
Indications:
in eczema, furunculosis and acne as a bacteriostatic agent and facilitating the removal of pus.
Contraindications:
hypersensitivity to any component of the drug.
Usage:
externally on the affected areas, lubricate 1-2 times a day.
Composition 100g:
10g of ammonium sulfobitumate, 90g of auxiliary substances lanolin and yellow petrolatum.
