Inosinum pranobexum
The medicinal product Neosine as an active substance contains inosine pranobex with antiviral activity and stimulating the activity of the immune system
Indications
- Infections of the skin and mucous membranes caused by herpes simplex virus type I (cold sores) or type II (herpes genital herpes) and varicella zoster virus.
- Other viral infections, e.g. subacute sclerosing encephalitis complicating measles.
- Supportive in states of reduced immunity.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to inosine prabenox or any of the other ingredients of the drug.
- A gout attack or increased levels of uric acid in the blood.
- Past kidney stone.
- Renal impairment.
- Simultaneous intake of medicinal products used in the treatment of gout, increasing the excretion of uric acid, immunosuppressants, azidothymidine.
- Use for more than 3 months.
- Age under 1 year old.
Pregnant and lactating women should consult a doctor before using the product.
Dosage
Preparation for oral use.
Take the tablet with a glass of non-carbonated water. Do not bite, do not divide, do not chew, do not suck. If you have difficulty swallowing the whole tablet, you can crush it and dissolve it in a small amount of water.
Adults :
The recommended dose is 50 mg/kg body weight per day, usually 2 tablets (1000 mg) 3 times per day.
Do not exceed 4 g of inosine pranobex per day.
Children over 1 year of age :
The recommended dose is 50 mg/kg body weight per day, administered in several divided doses.
Neosine in the form of syrup is especially recommended for children.
The usual treatment time is 5 - 14 days. After the symptoms subside, continue administering Neosine for another 1-2 days.
