Preparation for oral use.
Wash down the tablet with 100 ml (approx. half a glass) of non-carbonated water. Do not bite, do not divide, do not chew, do not suck.
Diarrhea may subside after one dose, in which case the drug should not be used any longer.
Acute diarrhea:
adults and children over 12 years of age:
In the first dose, 2 capsules (4 mg loperamide), then 1 capsule (2 mg loperamide) after each loose bowel movement. Do not take more than 8 capsules per day.
children aged 6 - 12:
1 capsule (2 mg loperamide) after each loose bowel movement. Do not exceed 3 capsules a day.
Chronic diarrhea:
adults and children over 12 years of age:
1 capsule (2 mg loperamide) 2 times a day, if necessary, the dose can be increased to 4 - 6 capsules (8 - 12 mg loperamide) per day.
children aged 9 - 12:
1 capsule (2 mg loperamide) after each loose bowel movement. Do not exceed 3 capsules a day.
children aged 6 - 12:
1 capsule (2 mg loperamide) after each loose bowel movement. Do not take more than 2 capsules a day.
If there is no improvement or worsening of the patient's condition after 2 days, a doctor should be consulted.
Side effects
Loperamide may interact with other medications you are taking at the same time. Before using the preparation, you should read the list of active substances affected by Stoperan.
Side effects are rarely associated with taking Stoperan. If they occur, they are usually:
headaches and dizziness, fatigue, drowsiness;
gastrointestinal complaints;
allergic reactions;
urinary retention.
Loperamide taken in excessive doses or used too often may cause constipation.
