Tantum Verde mint flavor is a medicine in hard lozenges for pain, redness or swelling of the mouth and throat. Tantum Verde mint flavor has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, additionally locally anesthetizes and disinfects.

Composition
The active substance is: benzydamine hydrochloride ( benzydamini hydrochloridum ).
1 hard lozenge contains 3 mg of benzydamine hydrochloride.
Excipients: isomalt (E 953), levomenthol, aspartame (E 951), citric acid monohydrate, mint flavor composition, lemon flavor composition, quinoline yellow (E 104), indigo carmine (E 132).
Dosage
Always use this medicine as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- Tantum Verde mint flavor is used orally, hard lozenges should be sucked slowly, not chewed or swallowed.
- The drug should not be used for more than 7 days.
- If the symptoms of stomatitis (e.g. ulceration) do not subside despite the use of the drug, a doctor should be consulted, as in some people it may be a symptom of another disease process.
Adults: 1 hard lozenge 3 times a day.
Children aged 6 to 11 years: should be used under adult supervision, 1 hard lozenge 3 times a day.
Action
Tantum Verde mint flavor contains benzydamine, which belongs to indole non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and has analgesic and anti-inflammatory, as well as local anesthetic and disinfecting properties.
Indications
The indication for the use of Tantum Verde mint flavor is the treatment of symptoms associated with inflammation of the throat and mouth, which manifest themselves in this part of the body:
- pain
- redness,
- swelling.

When not to use Tantum Verde mint flavor:

in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the other ingredients of this medicine,

in patients with phenylketonuria, as the drug contains aspartame, a source of phenylalanine.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Uncommon side effects (1 to 10 in 1,000 people):
- skin reactions due to photosensitivity.
Rare side effects (1 to 10 in 10,000 people):
- burning or dry mouth.
Very rare side effects (less than 1 in 10,000 people):
- laryngospasm.
Not known:
- premature closure of the ductus arteriosus in the fetus,
- allergic reaction (hypersensitivity), severe allergic reaction (anaphylactic shock).
- local loss of sensitivity of the oral mucosa.
Warnings and precautions
Before use, consult your doctor if you are allergic to acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
- Caution should be exercised when using Tantum Verde mint flavor in patients with bronchial asthma, as the medicinal product may cause shortness of breath.
